Week 13

Headed to Vegas, Dusty in Serendipity, and our Valentines treats!!

A little late on the post this week!! I will have to do a picture for week 14 tomorrow because I have been a slacker! This week has gone by quick which has been nice!! Last Monday we got to go see Dr. Rappleye which is always nice to see that the baby is doing good! We got to hear the heartbeat which was a relief :) Then talked about a few questions that I had been thinking about. I asked if it was pretty much a for sure thing that baby is going to be big because both Dusty and I were chunky babies! The answer is yes. Baby should be big, which is scary but chunky babies are happy babies:) Also we talked about hospitals and I am just trying to decide between St. Marks and IMC in Murray! Haven't quite decided yet.
We got to go down to St. George this last weekend for a wedding and then spent some time in Vegas as well! It was fun to be distracted from counting down the weeks days and just get my mind off of everything for a few days! Who knew being pregnant was so exhausting and stressful! I needed those days away! I for sure have been paying for it this week, all the walking and such has taken a toll this week! So this week I have been taking it easy! It was also Valentines on Tuesday!! Dusty let me do some shopping in Vegas for Valentines and then we also had a little celebration on Valentines as well! We had a yummy breakfast! Pink pancakes, and doughnuts from Schmidts Bakery! yumm!! I had to work but my mom surprised me at work with a nice Valentines gift so that made it fun:) We went to dinner at Brio and then went to see This Means War. And Dusty got me a giftcard for a prenatal massage!! Ahhh can't wait to go get that!! Sounds like HEAVEN!!! Anyways hers a little update on how I have been feeling..

How far along?  13 Weeks 6 days

Total weight gain: So hard to say cause it goes up and down daily!! I think its bloating like 3ish pounds though! Feels like more right now!
Maternity clothes? not yet :/
Stretch marks? none 
Sleep: sleeping good but I think I have become dependent on the unisom!! 
Best moment this week: Valentines!! Fun time with hubby! Getting to hear our little ones heartbeat at the doctor!!
Miss Anything? not being bloated! blah!! Food sounding good and not making me miserable after! Exercise Routine 
Movement: nothing yet
Food cravings: no intense cravings, fruit is always good because its refreshing, doesn't make me sick
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meats, anything with a really strong flavor that lingers
Gender: not quite yet.... waiting waiting.....
Labor Signs: nada
Symptoms: nausea, tired, headaches, joints hurt, spacey. Is that all?! sheesh!
Belly Button in or out? in!
Wedding rings on or off? on
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy! Poor Dusty is always hearing me complain about wanting to feel normal though. I think he for sure gets the worst of me. I am great around everyone else!
Looking forward to: Finding out what the Gender is!!! February 27th!!!

First Post!!! FINALLY!

So after realizing that I am truly blog challenged I am finally getting around to the first post!! Hurray!!!! I guess the pregnancy brain has started already, because man customizing this blog was hard! Well today I am officially 12 weeks and 1 day! So I will give you a little background on how these last 12 weeks have been!!
I found out that I was pregnant on December 13th! I was just 4 weeks so it was a little early to find out for most people but I am pretty on top of when my period should be so I knew something was up! I decided to grab a test on the way home from the gym before work.. so I am home alone and take this test and whelp its POSITIVE! It was the craziest most anxious, exciting, & nervous feeling ever! I have always wanted to tell Dusty in a cute way but there was no way I could hold it on ALL day long! So I sat for about 20 minutes calling and hanging up trying to decide what to do.. well finally I just called and blurted it out over the phone!! He was sooo excited but poor guy had to go into a meeting right then and he's trying to keep in all in!
So feeling a little better I told him I headed of to the hardest day of work. Thats all I wanted to tell people and think about but I knew it was WAY to soon! To top it off I was doing my moms eyelashes that day and couldn't even tell her! It was pure torture! 


Our plan was to wait and tell the family for a Christmas gift. We couldn't wait that long so we ended up telling everyone at a family welcome home dinner for Brady(who plays football at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland) on December 19th! We wrapped up gifts for all the parents and had them open a frame with the picture of us standing with little baby boots in-between our feet:) Everyone was sooo excited! This will be my parents first grand baby so they are thrilled! I was telling everyone how great I was feeling other than being tired..
Then the next day morning sickness began... It is as bad and worse than everyone has made it sound... like the never ending flu... 
So then I was forced to tell everyone because there was no hiding my morning sickness. Thank you Zofran for making it at least a tiny bit better.


I never knew pregnancy could be so scary and stressful! I am always worried about what can go wrong, I hear that is normal but its so hard to try to not think about it! Reaching this 12 weeks has been a big relief.


I have one stubborn baby who has already given me 2 doctor scares!!


The first.. I was going for my HCG levels and they didn't double so I had a VERY rude nurse (that was filling in for my nurse) who told me that the pregnancy didn't look promising so to not count on it. (the worst words to hear, who says that really???) So I went in for an ultrasound and at 5 weeks and 5 days I saw my little ones heartbeat:) that was the best feeling of relief. The ultrasound tech was great and told me that levels don't double all the time, that the nurse should have never said that to me.


The second.. I was going into my first actual Dr appointment @ 8 weeks 4 days and did my whole check and everything then the doctor brought in the little in office ultrasound and could not find the baby. I felt so lost and upset that this was happening again. He sent me straight over to the ultrasound place again and again they found the baby! Perfectly fine, growing on schedule and a heartbeat of 158!! So fun to see that little one moving all around.


Now I am just waiting on my next appt. on Monday February 6th. Cant wait to see my little one again:)
Wells thats just a little of what I have been through this first 12 weeks of pregnancy which feels like an eternity!! I think that once we know the sex of the baby it will go by a lot quicker! We get to find out on February 27th at Fetal Fotos! Counting down the days:)

Sleep: In the late afternoon I get pretty tired, but sleep great at night still
Best moment this week: Morning sickness is starting to let up a little!

Miss Anything? My energy!! Eating and not feeling so full for hours! darn slow digestion!
Movement: Not yet
Food cravings: No intense cravings! just like oranges, pineapple, anything refreshing. 
Anything making you queasy or sick: Meats, Chocolate(what am I saying that?!)
Have you started to show yet: Nothing yet. In the morning stomach is flat but by night I look bloated:/
Gender prediction: Not yet!

Weekly Wisdom: Try to stay calm and keep yourself busy this first trimester so it will go by quicker! Has helped the last couple weeks:)Looking forward to: Appt. on Monday! Getting a bigger bump & finding out the gender! :)
